Mition Control are springing into the final stretch of 2023, the previous quarter was a super productive one for us and we are excited to be currently planning our final association onboardings for the rest of this year.

We wanted to take a moment to introduce some new features and benefits, but firstly; as always, we would like to extend a warm welcome to the newest mition partners, welcome to our community and thank you for choosing Mition.

Our community growth gives us the continued ability to keep evolving the Mition platform.

Communication


Introduced feature as at July 2023; emails are moved from your database to disk storage automatically after 3 days. This ensures your database disk space remains optimal. For associations who use email heavily this can reduce their database size by up to 1GB per month.

Events


Custom Fields are now available for Events.

Custom fields can be added via Admin Settings > Events> Custom fields. When editing an event, you can now pick which custom field type to use or leave this blank. When users complete a booking form these fields will automatically appear. You can set them as mandatory, optional or even staff only (meaning that only staff can manage the settings for the users booking).



Booking Engine


User Bookings (Holiday Home, Room booking etc.) emails can now be CC'd to the staff member as they send them as a record and a workflow to send all payments made to an administrator is also now available & new payment reports specifically for user bookings are now available.

Custom Fields are now also available in the user bookings too!

Payments, Deposits & Partial Refunds


Deposit taking has been added and general usability improved.

Refunds have now been introduced in Mition; this allows you to process an entire stripe payment for a refund. This feature will allow you to specify an amount LESS than the payment also as a partial refund.

Stripe allows you to issue a refund for a payment for an amount up to the payment value. Similar to how refunds are processed now, this will update the invoice (unlocking this invoice if it was previously marked as paid to allow it to be updated).

In order to correctly track payments and refunds that occur outside of Stripe, this feature will allow other transactions to be marked as refunded. For example, if a deposit was taken by direct deposit and now needs to be refunded. We now allow the refund to be recorded, it will update the invoice  and add a refunded date will be added so reporting can capture dates payments were made and dates payments were refunded (given that they may not be in the same financial reporting period). 

Other improvements


As you know, we constantly look at ways we can improve our product. We take pride in building the ultimate membership system for staff and members. Some of the subtle improvements we introduced recently:

Data Tables now look much nicer on a MAC (removing some doubled lines).

Improved timezone displaying in Data Tables for Events and Resource Bookings which can show the start dates in the timezone of that item per row.

Invoice and payment navigation is now much easier as you can see and open the payments on the invoice itself.

Buttons, Cards and Call to Actions have more consistent and slightly more modern style and effects.

Webpage Settings now lets you see the Page List view of that page as you add a teaser image and description, to you know if you list this page somewhere in a page list what it might look like.

You can now add TAGS to Webpage Settings and use Page List to only show webpages with those tags. So you can easily feature a page on your site on the homepage.

Google Analytics now records the names of Admin pages being viewed, these were previously showing as page name "not set", so now through analytics you will see more events and be able to see which features are being used more often.

Database speed improvements through better table indexing and data management (i.e. archive emails to disk).

We have added some quick load invoice# and booking# so if you know the number you can enter it to access that item faster.

A new Automated Reminder was created to send an email when an Automated Payment fails, such as expired or cancelled credit card. You can find details about how it works on the bottom of the automated reminders documentation page. (You don't need to set this up if users are manually pressing the button to pay for their subscriptions as they get the message live).
